Prayer: For the President and Others in Authority

O Lord, our heavenly Father, whose glory is in all the world, and who dost from Thy throne behold all the dwellers upon earth: Most heartily we beseech thee, with Thy favor to behold and bless Thy servants, the President of the United States of America, our federal Senators and Representatives, the governor of the state of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi, our state Senators and Representatives, our city and county Mayors and Aldermen and all who bear rule throughout the world. Grant them wisdom and strength to know and to do Thy will, O Lord. Fill them with love of truth and righteousness. So rule their hearts and prosper their endeavors, that law and order, justice and peace may everywhere prevail, to the honor of Thy holy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord Amen.

For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

(Jeremiah 29:7 ESV)
But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.

(Daniel 2:20-23 ESV)
Daniel answered and said: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. To you, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, for you have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of you, for you have made known to us the king’s matter.”

(Matthew 18:20 ESV)
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
