Prayer: Affirmation from 1 Timothy 2:5-6, 1:15, 3:16

Affirmation from 1 Timothy 2:5-6, 1:15, 3:16 (No. 889)

There is one God
and there is one mediator, Christ Jesus,
who came as a ransom for all,
to whom we testify.

The saying is sure
and worthy of full acceptance:
That Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners,
and was manifested in the flesh,
vindicated in the Spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed among the nations,
believed in throughout the world,
taken up in glory.
Great indeed is the mystery of the gospel. Amen.

5 For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 6 He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. –1 Timothy 2:5-6

This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all. — 1 Timothy 1:15

Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith:

Christ was revealed in a human body
and vindicated by the Spirit.
He was seen by angels
and announced to the nations.
He was believed in throughout the world
and taken to heaven in glory.

— 1 Timothy 3:16
