Day 6, page 34 – second prayer
Prayer for Our Hospital Staff
O God, we pray [Lord] to send [Your] Blessing upon this our hospital, and grant that, by the help of [Your] Holy Spirit, we may strive with one heart and mind to make this place more pleasing to [You], for the Honor and Glory of [Your] Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Grant us the royal gift of courage; that we may do each disagreeable duty at once.
Grant us, O Lord, to understand the gift of prayer; that we may pray effectually, for everyone one we try to help.
Grant us a strong sense of duty, which refuses to yield to the inclination of the moment.
[May the Will of God be done in this place and for this people and may all Glory, Honor and Praise be to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. ]

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””

In the blog posts under this title we will revisit a collection of prayers published by the BBC* in the 1950’s for use in hospitals, denote changes. These prayers included Psalms suggested reading within the text and here we add some Old and New Testament scripture that could also be associated with the prayers.
